LYNN - The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce (LACC) will host an employment expo at North Shore Community College on Thursday, April 19, when jobseekers can meet with corporate representatives and recruiters.
The chamber, in concert with the college, is offering corporate sponsorships as well as exhibitor space. Corporate sponsorship is $750 for chamber members and $1,500 for non-members. Exhibitor space is $299 for members and $499 for non-members.
According to Kevin Donahue, the chamber’s executive director, corporate sponsors receive premier booth location, with their logo and corporate name displayed on the front cover of the expo program. Corporate sponsors will also be featured in all marketing collaterals, press releases, and on the chamber website, www.lynnareachamber-.com.
Exhibitors will be assigned booths on a first-come-first-serve basis. Their business or organization will be featured in the expo program with a one-eighth-page advertisement. Like the corporate sponsors, they will be listed in all marketing collaterals and press releases. Both corporate sponsors and exhibitors will receive complimentary lunch and coffee.
The expo will be held on the Lynn campus at 300 Broad St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking is available in the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority garage across the street.
No refunds or cancellations will be made after April 1 or for postponement due to inclement weather. To register, call the chamber at (781) 592-2900 or go online to fill out and submit the registration.
Sandra Lewis, chamber member services representative, said those who register online can then call the chamber and give their credit information over the phone, or mail a check to LACC, 100 Oxford St., Lynn, 01901.
According to Lewis, more than a dozen businesses and organizations are already signed up, including Bridgewell, SCORE, Operation Bootstrap, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army, Coastal Care, Sovereign Bank, Zwicker & Associates, the All-Care Visiting Nurse Association, Marjam Supply, Avon, and Northeast Healthcare Systems.
“We’re still waiting to hear from some others,” said Lewis, noting the event was well attended last year.
Donahue said the chamber has hosted a job expo for about eight years. “We’re trying to drive the employers there and also the jobseekers, students out of college or people who are between jobs and looking to upgrade their employment situation. When all is said and done, we should have about 30 exhibitors,” he said.
