Third Thursdays

The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce serves the City of Lynn, MA and towns of Lynnfield, MA, Swampscott, MA and Nahant, MA. The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce represents over 100 different professions on Boston’s north shore.

As part of the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to stimulate economic development and awareness in the City of Lynn’s historic Central Square business district, every 3rd Thursday of the month celebrate North Shore culture and bring the whole family down for an evening of fun in Lynn’s Central Square. Experience a variety of art, live-music, kid’s activities and family friendly events from 5PM to 8PM. Explore changing exhibitions at the Lynn Museum, LynnArts and Raw Art Works. Shop the Lynn Farmer’s Market when they join us in June with fresh local produce and the season’s first strawberries.

The Central Square Collaborative is composed of organizations and businesses with an interest in the redevelopment of downtown Lynn. The group includes arts and culture organizations, realtors, community service organizations, the City of Lynn and resident business owners. Our goal is to promote the downtown area by advancing awareness of local business and cultural opportunities, encouraging new business development, and advertising downtown real estate. In 2005 the Collaborative initiated Third Thursdays. Based on similar programs in other cities, Third Thursdays provide live music, children’s activities, hands-on art demonstrations, open studios, art openings and later hours at local businesses. The selection of Third Thursdays as a marketing starting point came from the desire to brand a particular day and event in the minds of our audience. Our long term view is of an active, healthy city, which supports the resident population, provides a strong arts and culture community, and encourages aggressive economic growth.
