Committees

All members are welcome to serve on one or several Chamber committees, or create a committee in an area that interests them. To serve on a committee or for more information please contact the office at 781-592-2900. Ambassadors. Our Ambassador Committee serves as the welcoming arm of the Chamber. The “ATeam” coordinates all the Ribbon Cuttings, serves as greeters at Chamber events and introduces new members to other members. The ATeam supports the membership committee and Chamber staff with a variety of membership communication, initiatives and support.

Economic Development

The Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce provides information and assistance to potential and existing business that are considering relocating, expanding, or opening a venture in the Lynn area as well as consultation to people interested in opening a business via our complimentary SCORE business counseling program. The LACC objective is to continue to assist businesses in growth and expansion, while aiding startups striving to become viable in the Lynn Area economy. Anticipate and aggressively address issues in a timely fashion, encouraging companies succeed in our community. Be a proactive partner in the recruitment and development of retail/service businesses necessary to reenergize and grow the region.

Education Partnership

The focus of the Education Partnership is to provide workforce development programs, mentoring, and internships, job shadowing and career fairs to the schools in the “Areas” we represent by inviting our member businesses into the classroom where they can provide information on basic work skills, soft skills, interview and resume’ skills, and the world of work in general.

Golf Tournament

The LACC’s annual Golf Tournament is held on the 2nd Monday in August at gorgeous Gannon Municipal Golf Course in Lynn, MA, at the edge of Lynn Woods State Park Reservation. The tournament serves as a major revenue enhancer for the organization. The objective of the committee is to establish golf, sponsorship rates and organize all aspects of the tournament…and the complimentary lunches during the meetings aren’t bad either!

Government Affairs

The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) oversees the public affairs events and public policy positions and initiatives. As issues relate to Chamber members and Lynn area’s economy and our quality of life, the Committee tracks the:
-Legislative activity of the executive boards of the respective communities and their respective committees.
-Regulatory activity of numerous city and town boards and commissions.
-Administrative and enforcement activity of various city and town departments and agencies.

The Committee is responsible for maintaining a positive and productive relationship with: city and town government; the business/employer/developer community and the community at large. The GAC meets the second Wednesday of every month. (schedule subject to change)

Membership

The Membership Committee is responsible for identifying potential chamber members, promoting the organization within the membership and in the community and sending leads to our Membership Manager, Sandra Lewis. The Membership Committee does not meet regularly but instead utilizes email to pass on leads and ideas.

Nominating

The Nominating Committee is a short term committee that meets for about a month prior to the Annual Meeting to review nominees for the LACC Board of Directors and Excellence in Business Awards.Unfortunately members can not be a nominee and serve on the committee.

Women in Business

Our Women in Business committee organizes the speaker series for our quarterly Women in Business Educational and Networking events.
